Job Description:

Effectively plan, integrate, manage and co-ordinate Absa Group Skills Development requirements to ensure effective execution and delivery of all apprenticeship, learnership, internship programmes and funding initiatives within optimised cost, time, and quality parameters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize available tools to manage core business requirements and deliverables
  • End to end management of the Group learnerships and internships in alignment with legislative requirements gaps for people capability development, in relation to full/part qualifications.
  • Manage and support audit review with verification agencies. matrix, qualification and advisory service to business units.
  • Manage SETA Funding across Absa Group by ensuring a disciplined approach to the management of pivotal funding
  • Ensure an understanding of Leadership, Learning and Talent strategy and objectives, identifying the needs and skills
  • In-depth understanding of learning and development in line with implementation of training programmes, i.e., Learning
  • Manage department budgets and implement measures to monitor expenditure and exploit opportunities for further
  • Accountability: Operations management
  • Define and enable a robust and coherent plan to attract, recruit and engage prospective employees in the areas of scarce and critical skill across the Group in collaboration with the Group Skills Development Specialist.
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of the business unit’s strategy and translate to team members.
  • Oversee compliance to policies, legislation and regulations relevant to the department

Qualification & Experience:

  • 3-year degree or NQF 7 in HR, Business or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of people management
  • Four years in a learning development or related role
  • 1-2 years leadership and project management exposure
