Job Description:
To support Provincial, Regional and Local market management in the attainment of the province’s objectives on key financial and non-financial metrics by preparing and analysing the financial results (including guidance on income statement matters), and sales and customer data of the Provincial, Regional and Local market, identifying problem areas and potential for improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Creates quarterly leave plans to ensure adequate coverage. Approves leave requests and leave sell requests.
- When required, initiates disciplinary processes for team members. Resolves grievances raised by team members, escalating only if unresolved.
- Serves as a member of the Regional and Local market management committees, liaising with other departmental heads, offering financial guidance / assistance in resolving problems and business planning.
- Ensures that the coaching and guidance of provincial stakeholders on the use and application of pricing models occurs
- Participates in all projects that require business case, financial modelling or the application of discounted cash flow techniques.
- Researches, investigates and monitors the financial impact and feasibility of various business initiatives and projects.
- Plans, coordinates and executes the provincial financial planning cycles taking into account Group Finance and provincial timelines and requirements. Delivers accurate financial plans which are signed off by the respective provincial heads.
- Provides input and feedback to Finance (Measurement and Pricing) in the development of pricing models.
- Creates an environment of collaboration and team work
- Uses workforce plans to obtain headcount approvals on an annual basis and as input into the financial budgeting cycles.
Qualification & Experience:
- Finance and Accounting Honours Degree
- 5-7 years experience in financial services. Previous experience in heading up a finance team and delivering key MIS to business unit. Management Accounting reporting experience. Advanced Product knowledge. Advanced knowledge of Data structures and Analytics. Broad understanding of a business environment. Knowledge of financial analysis techniques. Construct, read and interpret financial statements. Computer literacy in well-known applications.
