Job Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and draft appropriate contract terms and conditions based on the applicable scope of work and or instructions.
  • Provide legal advice and training related to contractual terms and conditions.
  • Provide solutions and alternatives related to complex commercial and / or legal situations.
  • Provide advice in respect of contract terms to minimize legal risk.
  • Participate in dispute resolution processes with stakeholders related to contracts.
  • Keeping up to date with all applicable legislation, policies (internal and external) and case law and to the extent necessary, provide training to the business to ensure
  • adherence and compliance thereto.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally.
  • Drafting and vetting of all types of contracts (simple and complex).
  • Implementation of legal strategies that support the business contracting strategies.
  • Participate in the alignment of legal strategies to the operational framework, policies, processes, procedures and governance structures.
  • Participate in contract negotiations.
  • Resolve queries related to legal practices, processes or contractual terms and conditions.
  • Advice and guide stakeholders on the impact and consequences related to breach of contract.
  • Assist with the drafting of revision documents, breach and termination letters, contract amendments, contractual claims and other contract administration documents.

Job Requirements:

  • Apply problem-solving techniques.
  • Have clear security screening record.
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in a related role, of which 2 years should have been at a functional/specialist area
  • Have Awareness of customer service and apply the skills of customer care in a specific work environment.
  • Apply the organisation’s code of conduct in a work environment.
  • Have computer skills (MS Office and Symplexity)
  • Have Report writing skills.
  • Apply the principles of corporate governance and ethics in a function.
  • Apply research techniques to analyse and interpret data
  • Be an admitted attorney or advocate
  • Be able to Facilitate and conduct meetings and workshops effectively to achieve organisational outcomes.
  • Have NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) within the Legal field.
  • Apply the principles of ethics to improve organisational culture.
