Job Description: The purpose of the Senior BBBEE Specialist role is to provide technical advisory expertise, support and services that enables the Shoprite Group’s BBBEE compliance in terms of relevant legislation, regulations and codes. The role champions the Groups transformation by facilitating long-term B-BBEE strategy development and execution including providing thought leadership on legislative changes and updates, executing gap analysis and scenario planning and developing and implementing integrated BBBEE and transformation business plans. The Senior BBBEE Specialist works alongside the Enterprise and Supplier Development function to develop and implement a strategy definition and implementation process for the Shoprite Group, which includes Shoprite Holdings as well as all its subsidiaries. The role further provides management with corporate performance measures and competitor analysis and ensures functional alignment with Group strategy. Job Responsibilities: Project manage and facilitate the implementation of BBBEE initiatives according to plan. Drive the delivery and achievement of desired compliance levels by conducting ongoing research, interpreting legislation and providing technical expertise related to the BEE Codes of Good Practice (“the Codes”). Manage the annual BBBEE verification process (which includes multiple verifications) for the Group and all its relevant subsidiaries, including all related risk and compliance tasks. Facilitate the target setting process with business, including tracking and monitoring execution against set targets and alignment to the measurement principles and guidance notes of the Codes. Develop reports on a regular basis to appraise the various committees across the Group BBBEE strategy (e.g. BEE Committee, Social Ethics etc.) and externally including that of the BEE Commission. Champion the Group’s transformation strategy and do scenario planning in collaboration with the business. Manage the BBBEE scorecard across business activities and optimise opportunities for each pillar. Track and communicate performance and results at the senior leadership level. Establish strong relationships with external partnerships, strategic alliances and associations whilst representing the company’s views effectively. Job Requirements: Experience working on BBBEE systems – (essential). Deep understanding of scorecard calculations and performance measurements – (essential). Proficient with MS Office 365 with an advanced level of Excel skill – (essential). Expertise in the interpretation and application of BBBEE legislation – (essential). Qualification & Experience: Degree in Financial Management, Economics, Law or a related field – (essential). Relevant certification in BBBEE – (desired). Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience in BBBEE, including Codes of Good Practice, Sector Charters, detailed reporting, policy review and verification – (essential). 4+ years experience in a similar role, facilitating the development and delivery of a holistic BBBEE strategy for a large and complex organisation – (essential).
