Job Description:

Provide a comprehensive cost controls service to the PPA Asset within the Mozambique Gas Projects portfolio. Supporting the Manager Project Controls: PPA to act as a central point of accountability for the project cost control on PPA projects. Provide a high-quality cost control support to PPA asset projects.  Supporting the development of Cost Control base and for the monthly reporting of cost performance against the control base. Ensure proper project controls governance is adhered to the project. Support in preparation of PPA partners Authorisation for Expenditure (AFE) for capital projects. Maintain high standard of cost reporting and ensure that the project health status is reflected through accurate tracking and reporting of changes and risk and the remaining contingencies and risk allowances. Ensure that all Board decisions relating to costs are implemented and adhered to on projects. Ensure that the project is capitalised and perform financial closure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Validating the value of work done (VOWD) against the Control Base and prepare the month management accrual
  • Updating and maintaining the cost reports and PVP register
  • Assisting with the assessment of cost and schedule risk impacts
  • Monitor VOWD against the Control base, perform a cost and commitment reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Obtaining all the documentation required to raise a risk or PVP
  • Conducting Level 1 assurance (e.g health checks) as described in the procedures
  • Creating PR’s in SAP to maintain commitments on the project
  • Developing monthly cost reports against the approved cost baseline
  • Creating VP’s and updates cost report with these VP’s
  • Attending change management meetings and pro-actively participating in the process of identification of changes
  • Developing and maintaining the cost risk register
  • Updating the PVP register including sequential numbering of changes
  • Managing project cost change management process

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with Project Coordination is planning, organizing, and managing tasks and resources to accomplish an objective this include an administrative, liaison and support role that supports one or more projects. Usually used during smaller non-capital projects.
  • The methodology followed for increasing the effectiveness and/or efficiency of a business process, often through automation.
  • Is a step-by-step process of defining a problem, searching for information, and testing a series of solutions until the problem is solved. In involves critical thinking, analysis and persistence.
  • Knowledgeable of the theory, purpose, architecture and design of the management, administration and relationships of the organization’s data.
  • Integration: The consolidated view with various parts, circumstances, legislation, landscapes or aspects linked or coordinated.

Qualification & Experience:

  • 6 years relevant experience
  • Bachelo’s degree in Accounting/ Engineering/ Commerce/ Quantity Survyeing
