Job Description:

A Buying Administrator is requred in the Agriculture space to provide administrative support to the purchasing process with specific responsibility for administering site/category bid and purchasing document, calling off from loaded contracts and responding to related enquiries

Job Responsibilities:

  • Solicit written and telephone quotations
  • Inform functional staff and vendors regarding procedural requirements
  • Assist in tabulating bids
  • Maintain purchasing documents, files and records and follow up files of purchases, shipments, and related matters
  • Review requisitions and compile bid documentation to facilitate competitive procurement of non-complex, non-contract items
  • Process financial data and documents (e.g., bids, incoming purchase requisitions, etc.) for the purpose of updating and distributing information and/or acquiring resources to support the purchasing operation
  • Expedite outstanding order commitments to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates
  • Verify budgeted funds for specific products/projects
  • Research new sources of supply
  • Buying Administration:
  • Call off items from loaded contracts and capture purchase orders
  • Where appropriate, inspect products received for quality and quantity to ensure adherence to specifications

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Accountancy
  • Minimum of 3 years’ buying administration experience in a FMCG environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Completed or studying towards a Diploma in Supply Chain or Procurement
