RCL Cruise Jobs – SHEQ Manager

Job Description:

RAINBOW are currently recruiting for a Regional SHEQ Manager, based at our Chicken Processing Site in Rustenburg. The role reports to the Regional Director and would suit a confident leader with solid experience in the Quality and Food Safety Function

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor staff performance and provide regular performance feedback.
• Manage staff activities, ensuring service levels are met and protocols are adhered to
• Ensure correct cost allocations of expenses
• Tracking expenses against budget to avoid overspend
• Maintain open communication through frequent meetings/feedback sessions
• Manage external service providers to drive compliance and cost effectiveness
• Participate in food safety and food law committees of external parties (i.e. SABS, Trade Metrology, CGCSA: FSI, Food Law, Industry Affairs Forum, SANS and any other external party that influences legal and regulatory requirements).
• The role of management representative for ISO 22 000, 45 001, 14 001, relevant legislative knowledge for Processing.
• Manage department budget
• Preparing the budget for approval prior new financial year starts
• Lead and develop staff within the context of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Skills Development Act.
• Ensure external service providers participate in audits and effectively close all audit findings
• Work in conjunction with the SHERQ Executive and the Regional Director to co-create the national SHERQ strategy for Agric and Processing, based on a 1 to 5 year view of requirements.

Qualification & Experience:

• BTech in Quality Management or Food Technology or Safety (Preferable)
• Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management knowledge and experience will be advantageous
• Completed 3 Year relevant tertiary qualification in Quality Management or Food Technology and Safety ISO, BRC and HACCP experience
• A minimum of 7 – 10 years’ experience in an FMCG environment in a quality and food safety role with at least 3 years in a management role
