Job Description: Responsible for the correct posting of sub-ledgers to the General Ledger, maintenance of the Journal System, reconciliation of the General Ledger accounts and maintaining the Chart of Accounts and producing trial balances for all General Ledger accounts. Job Responsibilities: Perform finance administration duties and ad hoc duties. Assist the Management Accountant in compiling reports. Ensure that all GL queries are addressed and resolved efficiently and timeously. Supervise the preparation and posting of journals as per standard operating procedures. Supervise and coach personnel in the department. Assist in monthly reporting. Supervise the reconciliation of General Ledger accounts as per standard operating procedures. Supervise all third-party payments. Prepare and update the trial balance, for the preparation of the financial statements (quarterly, bi-annually or annually). Job Requirements: Experience in caseware will be an added advantage. Functional ability in utilisation of electronic systems and technologies. Knowledge of Accounting and how to perform these functions within a matrix business environment. At least one (1) year of experience as a team leader/supervisor. A recognised Grade 12 certificate with higher grade Accounting and Diploma or BCom in Financial Accounting/Finance. Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience within a finance environment.
