Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring effective project governance and resource allocation.
  • Managing communication, monitoring, reporting and control activities throughout the project lifecycle to all levels of stakeholders;
  • Delivering specialised project coordination services for effective communication and stakeholder engagement;
  • Assisting project collaborators to define project goals and organisational value-adds, and to establish overall success criteria;
  • Project development and planning, which includes clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and timelines;
  • Facilitating the decision-making process with stakeholders and document it accordingly;
  • Coordinating and conducting activities with key stakeholders (including creative agencies and internal representatives) to obtain input and decisions required to draw up, maintain, and implement project plans;
  • Monitoring and controlling, tracking and ensuring that project milestones and deliverables are met;
  • Identifying project team members and stakeholders, leads, responsibilities, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines;
  • Developing systems and processes for effectively managing communication projects;
  • Coordinating project issues and risks, scope and change control, project budget, resource capacity, project dependencies and critical paths;

Job Requirements:

  • Strong, systematic organisational skills;
  • At least five years’ experience in a role managing diverse projects and initiatives in a cross-functional organisational environment, specifically related to communication, marketing and/or events projects;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Outlook and MS Teams);
  • The ability to make objective and decisive, yet flexible decisions under pressure and within set deadlines;
  • Proven track-record of successful collaboration with various partners and management of external providers;
  • The ability to accurately report information and fine attention to detail.
  • Relevant B-degree or equivalent qualification in communication or marketing management;
  • The ability to function effectively in a multilingual and multicultural environment;

Qualification & Experience:

  • Ervaring in ‘n hoëronderwysomgewing;
  • Experience in the higher education environment;
  • Professional Project Management certification (Prince2/PMP/CAPM, or equivalent);
  • Ervaring in ‘n korporatiewe kommunikasie-/bemarkingsomgewing;
  • Experience with project management methodologies;
  • Ervaring met projekbestuursmetodologieë;
  • Professionele Projekbestuursertifikaat (Prince2/PMP/CAPM, of gelykwaardig);
  • Experience in a corporate communication/marketing environment;
  • Ervaring in die leiding van groot projekte en die gebruik van samewerkende instrumente.
  • Experience in leading large projects and the use of collaborative tools.
