Job Description:

Provide advice on corporate finance services relating to the Sasol Group’s financial evaluations, business implications of corporate decisions and statutory requirements for the management of local and offshore business transactions. Identify opportunities and remain abreast with latest market developments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to setting standards and create awareness with respect to non-financial disclosure requirements in South Africa and the United States.
  • Assess disclosure matters for materiality.
  • Provide disclosure and securities law support to transaction teams in securities and capital market matters such as bond issues or equity transactions (bonds, rights), circulars and prospectuses.
  • Assist in the liaison with local and international regulators such as Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
  • Work with the Vice President for Securities and Governance laws in all disclosure matters for the Sasol Group.
  • Assist in insider trading related matters and the formulation of the relevant policies in that regard.
  • Enable the Disclosure Working Group’s mandate.
  • Contribute to shaping Group-wide governance initiatives to address governance advisory requirements.
  • Review Sasol corporate documents and filings such as annual reports and disclosure documents.
  • Monitor and understand capital markets and securities laws applicable to Sasol.

  • The systematic computational analysis of data or statistics
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of financial management, the strategic and functional management of the set of processes, customs, policies, laws, and institutions affecting the way the company’s finances are directed, administered, and controlled.
  • Decision Making: Ability to know when and what decisions should be made and to make several decisions simultaneously in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Qualification & Experience:

  • 10 relevant years
  • Admitted attorney of a High Court
  • Post Graduate Honours Degree, LLB or Law degree
