Job Description:

We seek to appoint a dynamic and experienced, professionally qualified MIC of College Basketball. The flexibility to get the best out of students with a broad range of abilities is essential and a willingness to be involved in the extended Basketball programme across the whole school, as well as other sports, and teach physical education at the College is a must.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Basketball planning, organising and related duties for all fixtures.
  • Coach a College team.
  • Assist with the supervision of players off and on the field.
  • Communicate & collaborate regularly with Basketball Head Coach and Director of Sport.
  • Managing all preseason training, home fixtures and attending tours and festivals.
  • Guide and assist the Head Coach with coach appointments and related administration.
  • Design and execution of marketing of the St John’s Basketball programme.
  • Responsible for the running of the annual St John’s College Basketball Tournament

Job Requirements:

  • The ability to work positively with fellow coaching staff, parents and relevant stakeholders.
  • A strong Basketball background in playing, coaching and managing.
  • The ability to coach the first team, which would be advantageous.
  • An interest and commitment to developing the whole child athlete.
  • The ability to develop new ideas and work cooperatively to sustain them.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 5 years Basketball management and administration experience
  • Proof of SACE registration and ability to teach an academic subject is desirable
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (3 year degree and or Diploma)
