Job Description:
The role involves the instruction of and liaising with our panel of attorneys around the monitoring of our security from a releases and cancellations perspective. The successful candidate will be the custodian of the cancellations space which involves, inter alia, subdivisions, consolidations, releases, cancellations and consents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review of facilities
- Updating Collateral Register
- Drafting, vetting and signing consents
- Advising consultants and attorneys on releases and cancellations of mortgage bonds, consolidations, opening of sectional title registers, subdivisions, real right releases
- Ensuring that all legal risk implications are understood and accounted for in the contracting process to protect the Bank’s interests
- Keeping up to date with new legislation and ensuring that any changes that need to be implemented from a contractual perspective as a result of the change in legislation are done so in the most cost-effective manner
- Risk and compliance reporting
- Training
- Review credit minutes and ensure that all conditions on minutes are met
Job Requirements:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 3 years legal experience
- Understanding conveyancing
- Communication skills
- Enthusiastic about an administrative intensive role
- Ability to query credit and valuation approvals diplomatically
- Banking experience and corporate legislation an advantage
- Good working knowledge of developments, opening of sectional title registers and real rights
- Excellent time management
- Computer literacy
- Conveyancing Paralegal
- Building Relationships
- Understand legal concepts and legal entities and ability to apply this to the role
- Experience in bond cancellations and releases, subdivisions, consolidations, registration of bonds and transfers
