Job Description:
To execute daily treasury operations with a focus on money market instruments to optimise funding mix and funding cost while ensuring risk and liquidity levels are aligned with the overall strategy of the bank.
Job Responsibilities:
- Esnure resolution of customer queries and complaints timeously and ownership of issues
- Analyse customer feedback to help improve customer service
- Liaise with the Risk team in designing trade architecture, trading policies and procedures, as well as trading record keeping
- Develop business relationships with counterparties and investors to maximise credit lines from the market
- Understand all Money market and Fixed income instruments to optimise cross sell ability within the related trading desk
- Liaise with various banks and institutional clients on money markets
- Ensure full understanding of customer needs to deliver a quality service
- Ensure customer service solutions are aligned to the business operational plan; Organisational values and service standards
- Prepare periodic analysis of the desks cash flows, assets, and liabilities as well as market developments
- Contribute to plans for growing the funding base and other businesses of the bank
- Perform various compliance-related tasks to ensure the Trading desk remains compliant with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Act as the project-lead for all trading processes initiatives, working with systems technology, risk, and other peers, to drive initiatives to completion
- Collaborate closely with relevant business units and FNB product houses as per strategy to identify revenue opportunities
- Drive opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction such as adoption of digital and other self service options across client base
- Propose ideas to improve customer service
- Conduct Treasury Bills, Call trades, NCD’s, FRN, Prime linkers and other short term interest rate products as part of the desk mandate
- Communicate how customer service solution will be implemented and secures buy-in
- Ensure product knowledge and advice is technically accurate and provide customers with relevant information to keep them informed of products and service options

- Relevant Business Science Postgraduate Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or Maths
- Relevant MBA or Masters in Business Science, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or Maths

- Negotiation and consensus building
- 3 to 5 years product, finance, or trading money markets experience in a financial industry environment, of which 1 to 2
- years ideally at a junior specialist level
- Knowledge Required
