AWS Support provides global technical support to a wide range of external customers as they build mission-critical applications on AWS services. We are seeking a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Support organization as a Program Manager. In this role, you will work closely with your regional AWS Support teams to manage the execution of employee experience and development initiatives focused on maintaining our Amazon culture. You will have a strong delivery record and leadership experience to own, influence, and execute employee experience projects.

The AWS Support team uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to understand what our employees care about and bring that voice directly to senior leaders. We are seeking a creative, customer-obsessed, thoughtful, and driven Program Manager to join the AWS Support team to drive and enhance the Amazon culture. The AWS Frontline Support organization is comprised of a vast employee network which operates both in-office and remotely across the globe. This role will give you the opportunity to transform our current work from home experience strategy – building on what we’re doing well and identifying opportunities for us to improve how we serve WFH and in-office employees globally.

This role will require driving cross-functional efforts to execute against the highest priority problems, and ensuring knowledge and resources are shared across our teams to improve our people experiences and effectiveness. The program manager will collaborate with many internal partners and business leaders.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, self-starter who thrives when responsible for large and ambiguous challenges. We are looking for an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) who can Deliver Results. This person is able to effectively identify and analyze the root-cause of problems and strategically implement long-term, inclusive solutions across a large and diverse workforce.

Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of the challenges accompanying a virtual workplace and the curiosity plus research skills to become a trusted expert in this area. This person will use their program management skills to launch employee experience initiatives at the site level, working closely with site leadership in the process.

This role can sit anywhere in Costa Rica/South Africa.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years program management experience
  • A proven track record of managing and executing regional projects from start to finish.
  • Experience managing employee focused programs in a large and diverse operations organization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional collaboration for people programs, driving data analysis, building alignment around a program.
  • Experience prioritizing projects and solutions across multiple teams.
  • Experience identifying gaps and improving processes, mechanisms, and programs.
  • Self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience leading relevant HR operational programs, including experience leading cross-functional, global projects.
  • Strong background in building and executing in a highly ambiguous, flexible environment.
  • Strong data-driven, business writing skills.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
