Job Description:

We are looking for a resilient, efficient and confident individual with a compelling drive to implement the execution of the Merchandise strategy through effective Product Technology processes, procedures and standards through consistent product quality and alignment. This position, reporting to the Product Technology Manager, is an exciting and challenging opportunity that will require the successful candidate to contribute significantly to enabling the business to achieve its long-term strategic objectives

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration and alignment with Buying and Sourcing departments for effective execution of Company Strategy
• To be responsible for all management reporting on portfolio related Product Assessment KPIs
• Co-ordinating in-season processes as per Company guidelines
• Ensuring effective delivery of Product Assessment execution in line with Merchandise strategy (e.g. implementation of process enablers according to business requirements)
• Representing Product Technology in Range Review meetings
• Product Technology SLAs are implemented, updated and adhered to within the Product Technology Team
• Ensuring all Product Technology Processes for Product Assessment are implemented, updated and adhered to
• Leading & developing the Product Assessment Technology Team by implementing sound people management practices, employee relations and a climate and culture of high performance.

Job Requirements:

• Product knowledge such as textiles, footwear, intimate wear, homeware and necessities, health, beauty, cosmetics, FMCG will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of SABS, ISO, & EU standards (area specific)
• Knowledge of AQL requirements/standards.
• Knowledge of Product Technology objectives & strategies
• Supplier base knowledge (capabilities and areas of specialization)
• Knowledge of Merchandise critical path and business processes (SOPs)

Qualification & Experience:

• Garment construction and engineering
• Manufacturing technology
• Relevant qualification in clothing/footwear management or design, preferably with the following subjects:
• Bachelor Degree in Consumer Science (with specialisation in Clothing Management), OR
• Diploma in Garment Technology OR
