Job Description:
The position is responsible for the execution of strategic objectives within the Wholesale, National Chains & Onbilling (prepaid & postpaid) channels through developing and implementing plans to deliver net sales and revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and growth. This will be done by leveraging Vodacom’s brand, extensive distribution footprint, products, and services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set clear team goals and KPIs
- Lead the channel in key stakeholder engagement forums.
- Ensure that channels are well stocked and ensure that operational plans are executed nationally and in the regions based on requirements from the segments.
- Determine the distribution and channel mix strategy. Manage performance and optimize ROI into channels based on revenue and strategic drivers
- Manage negotiations, deals and alignment to overall spending initiatives set out in A&R management.
- Ensure that all correspondence and issues with partners are managed and resolved timeously.
- Responsible for fostering relationships with channel partners, and creating and implementing sales growth strategies designed to increase profitability for your channels.
- Have a vested interest in field services priorities and training
- Intimate understanding of devices and competitive activity and ensure smartphone penetration and data attachment as required.
- Provide people leadership to the department and cross functionally.
- Own the relationship with partners related to Airtime, Prepaid, Postpaid and Financial Services products.
- Responsible for improving customer consumption; planning and implementing product presentation in stores, monitoring competitor activity, help all communications with partners & resellers, and creating plans for and communicating channel activities.
- Create a healthy and motivating work environment and atmosphere
- Drive revenue and gain market share with execution through partners.
- Monitor performance and report on KPIs and provide remedial plans where necessary
Job Requirements:
- Field Services in retail (preferred)
- Leadership & Operational excellence – managing teams nationally/remotely
- Commercial acumen
- Telecom industry, competitive activity & product understanding (preferred)
- Negotiation skills
- Sales experience
Qualification & Experience:
- Matric/Grade 12 is essential. A suitable 3 year related degree or diploma and a post graduate qualification is recommended / advantageous.
- A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience of which 4-5 years should have been in a leadership role.
