Job Description:
To manage the allocated category of commodity by identifying go-to-market strategies, identifying commodity-specific Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment complaint suppliers and developing and implementing the commodity Sourcing plans, in partnership with the Procurement Business Partnering team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute on the full sourcing value chain for allocated commodities including supplier and contract management, applying governance principles and supplier relationship management to manage category spend across the SBG.
- Manage requisition changes and advise Buyers of appropriate action to be taken.
- Execute and evaluate allocated commodity sourcing activities across all Legal Entities, Business Lines, and Corporate Functions ensuring compliance with the Standard Bank Group (SBG) Procurement Policy.
- Execute commodity initiatives in line with the Group Procurement Stakeholder Engagement Framework and Client Service Framework, overseeing adherence to the framework principles
- Identify commodity items to include in catalogues by performing trend and cube analysis on buying patterns and analysing spend reports to ensure catalogues are relevant to the business based on commodity consumption patterns.
- Identify and recommend a go-to-market commodity sourcing strategy ensuring alignment to the Group Procurement Sourcing strategy, to maximise the value of each purchase and close deals with optimal terms.
- Develop and implement the commodity sourcing plan aligned to the Technology and/or Goods and Services sourcing plans, in collaboration with the Procurement Business Partnering team applying industry trends and business objectives to ensure an agile, responsive and efficient commodity sourcing practice across all Legal Entities, Business Lines, and Corporate Functions.
Qualification & Experience:
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or Member of the Professional Body for Supply Chain Management (SAPICS)
- 5-7 years Experience in commodity sourcing, with accountability for a category of goods and/r services. A proven track record in procurement contracting with strong negotiation skills. An ability to effectively communicate with multiple and varied internal and external stakeholders.
- Purchasing and Procurement Degree
