Job Description:

To take demand from walk-in customers for any cash related matters (e.g. teller, ATM, Moneygram) whilst forming an accurate assessment and understanding of that demand in order to act on it in a manner that consistently delivers what matters to the customer within the parameters of the bank’s financial offerings.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Client: Actively engage with walk-in customers to identify demand generation opportunities and promote the use of multiple branch and non-branch channels to enhance the opportunity for further sales; capture and log the corresponding documentation and customer information. Engage with walk-in customers to fully understand their demands and follow the required procedures to ensure that customer demands are fully and consistently met whilst mitigating any potential risks or non-compliance. Manage, process and attend to the handling, control, movement, storage and collection of all cash assets in the branch as per the laid-down policies and procedures to ensure all customer and business needs are sufficiently met, all prescribed limits are upheld and any potential risks or non-compliance is minimised.
  • Data: Assess what matters to the customer against the ability of processes and systems to meet the customers demand, in order to make recommendations to the In-Work Lead to act on the system. Collate information on value, variation and failure in the system whilst executing work processes, in order to contribute to the development of management information for the department.
  • People: Facilitates group meetings when required to contribute to collective learning and growth for individuals and teams.
    Risk, Regulatory, Prudential & Compliance: Adhere to all duty of care requirements as per branch operating procedures to ensure error rates, cash differences and operational losses are minimised. Sort documentation into the required sequences and place in correct receptacles upon completion of transactions and in-line with laid-down procedures to ensure sufficient protection of information and adherence to regulatory requirements. Complete reports and ad-hoc administrative duties as required or stipulated by laid-down procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Technology & Architecture: Conduct required maintenance and troubleshooting on ATM / ANA machines as per laid-down procedures and report technical / system issues to ATM control immediately to ensure corrective action is taken, the up-time/effective functioning of machine requirements is maximised and that machines remain clean internally and externally.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification: Secondary/High school/A levels/Matric
  • 1-2 years branch banking experience, understanding the bank’s laid-down policies and procedures related to telling / frontline support; bulk cash and ATMs. Familiar with the legal aspects regarding cash handling. Knowledge of the functions of other departments within the branch.
