Job Responsibilities:
- Collect scrubber samples (LPD)
- Reduce bulk and particle size of dry solid samples
- Determine the particle size distribution of samples by means of the sieving technique
- Preform analysis on ICP-MS instrumentation
- Quantity analyse concentrations in prepared samples by means of Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES)
- Grind material by means of a ball mill or ring mill (PMR)
- Preform physical analysis of materials (moisture, density, TDS, TSS, etc)
- Determine physical properties of materials (bulk density etc.) (LPD)
- Crush material by means of a jaw crusher (LPD)
- Quantify analyse concentrations in samples by means of X-Ray Fluorescence
- Preform Wet Chemical analysis and analysis using volumetric equipment
- Preform analysis by means of x-Ray Fluorescence (XFR) Spectrometry (PMR)
- Dry materials for analytical purposes
Job Requirements:
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater
- Occupational Health Centre
- At least 3 year chemistry experience within laboratory environment
- NQF 6 (Diploma) or NQF 7 (Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma)in Chemistry
- Mining laboratory experience
