Job Responsibilities:
- Continuously implement breakthrough or ground breaking projects
- Ensure that operating and maintenance procedure are in place and adhered to ensure competence of all engineering and operational staff for equip men and structures utilized
- Liaise with the strategic intent of the mechanization and automation strategy
- Implement the design and re-designed systems that have chronic failures in order to ensure business improvement
- Oversee all engineering work for effective functioning of operations, shafts and surface infrastructure.
- Monitor the output of all equipment (trends analysis and rectifying deviations)
- Support the operational teams in the application and maintenance of the mechanization and automation machinery fleets
- Business risk management from an engineering perspective
- Ensure maintenance of equipment to the required standards
- Ensure that all engineering systems are established, standardized, integrated and implemented in all operations
- Implement fatal risk protocol and associated guidelines in alignment to zero harm strategy
- Ensure alignment to Group Engineering Strategy and implementation and strategy roll-out
Job Requirements:
- Be in possession of a relevant Degree or National Diploma in Engineering
- Have minimum of 6 years working experience as an Engineer
- Be a registered Engineer with ECSA
- Display excellent communication skills in English both written and oral as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures
- Be computer literate in Microsoft Office and numerical modeling software
- Be in possession of a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) for Mines and Works
- Have proven experience in the design of systems and improvement of chronic failures of the system within the mining related environment
- Have sound business acumen and the ability to influence the main cost drivers in the Engineering Environment
- Have strong organizational skills to manage all mine maintenance and projects
