Job Description:

An Artisan – Electrician supports production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant.

Job Responsibilities:

• Working Knowledge of protection relays and overloads and be able to do maintenance and fault finding
• Standby duties
• Proactive identification of equipment failures in advanceConduct high level fault finding, repair and inspections on switchgear, control systems, transformers, DC Systems, Cables, Earthing Systems, Protection Systems, Heaters, Motors, UPS’s, VDS’s (any of the following: WEG, ABB & Siemens) and Classified EquipmentMaintain personal safety and safety for others according to procedures
• Participate in Risk Assessments(HIRA) and HAZOPS
• Utilize SAP in the maintenance environment (CMMS)
• Coach and evaluate learners and junior artisans in own known environment (Knowledge sharing).
• Understands and read engineering drawings

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to do first line standby
• General housekeeping

Qualification & Experience:

• Valid code 08 license
• Grade 12/N3 Electrical (Maths & Science)
• NQF 4 Electrical Trade test or Red seal
• NQF 4 Qualification (CHIETA/MQA preferred)
