SANParks Careers – General Manager

Job Description:

The Organisation requires the services of a General Manager: Continuous Improvement and Compliance in the Chief Operating Officer’s Division. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct enterprise strategic business analysis and development.
• Ensure in-house project management, documentation, processing and implementation.
• Ensure and maintain co-operate legislative compliance and reporting.
• Ensure policy monitoring, compliance, auditing and evaluation.
• Perform routine assessments and business improvements for operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Provide stakeholder engagement support on cooperative governance with government and strategic partners.
• Provide business solutions on efficient, innovative systems and business processes supportive of SANParks core business.
• Provide oversight on effective cooperative governance and compliance.
• Update and maintain the SANParks Policy portal on Sharepoint.
• Provide oversight on policy and procedure review and development, including routine policy analyses and research.
• Provide business analytics liaison.
• Perform routine business analysis, including turn-around times and bottleneck assessments.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of protected areas management legislation.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks.
• Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (preferable Master’s Degree), Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of policy management and compliance policy and protocol.
• Should have at least five years of experience in strategy and business performance, policy development and coordination, business process review and re-engineering or
• related field at a senior management level.
• Working knowledge of organisational corporate governance
• Knowledge of business analytics.
• Integrated process and systems thinking.
• Knowledge of international agreements.
• Business process and operational system analysis, review and re-engineering.
• Knowledge of project management issues.
• Facilitation skills.
