Job Description:

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to provide support to the Ecological Infrastructure Coordinator for the demonstration catchment in all aspects of project coordination with emphasis on ensuring catchment stakeholder management and reporting requirements are adhered to, as well as supporting project governance and oversight structures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate project level monitoring and evaluation, supporting the implementation of the Ecological Infrastructure for Water Security Project’s knowledge management strategy;
• Contribute to project planning, and the drafting of project budgets, reports and other project documentation as required;
• Provide general support to the management of the Project.
• Coordinate all reporting and governance processes and requirements for the demonstration catchment of the Ecological Infrastructure Water Security Project;

Job Requirements:

The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: stakeholder engagement and relationships management, attention to detail in dealing with budgeting, financial management, and reporting, systemic visualisation of various projects entailing a programme, advanced planning, organizing, problem solving skills; excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook). The possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential.

Qualification & Experience:

This position requires a degree in Natural/Environmental Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Management OR equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate qualification in Natural Sciences / Social Sciences / Project Management OR equivalent qualification with NQF 8 will be an added advantage.  6 years’ experience in project administration and/or management are required.
