RCL Merchandising Jobs – SHERQ Coordinator

Job Description:

The objective of this role is to provide functional leadership to facilitate the implementation, maintenance & improvement of the integrated management system comprising quality, feed safety, occupational health and safety, and environmental management.  This role is critical for driving continuous improvement on site and ultimately enabling excellent internal and external customer service

Job Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and enable problem-solving and root cause analysis
• Interpret and implement statutory requirements (relevant local by-laws and national regulations)
• Lead and manage internal, external, legal, and customer-specific audits and subsequent findings
• Manage contractors by conducting audits, verifying agreements, safety files, and site policy compliance
• Liaise with the technical manager on feed safety-related issues and align decision-making accordingly
• Identify and interpret SHERQ/Feed Safety risks and make relevant corrective & preventative action recommendations
• Analyze trends of non-conformances and complaints and identify improvement projects
• Develop SMART objectives, implement and monitor accordingly
• Implement and maintain Group Risk requirements
• Cultivate a proactive SHERQ/Feed Safety culture
• Arrange and facilitate management reviews and report on compliance, effectiveness, and resource requirements to management
• Drive and coordinate communication plan on site (SHE meetings, toolbox talks, Quality and Feed Safety Meetings, etc.)
• Manage complaints and non-conformances

Qualification & Experience:

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable SHE legislation
• Lead Auditor Certification for ISO 9001:2015 / FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of an integrated system
• Working knowledge and experience of Marsh Risk Management Standards would be advantageous
• 2+ years in leading systems position in reputable food/animal feed manufacturer
• Graduate/Post-Graduate degree in relevant field or equivalent qualification
• SAMTRAC/ITIS would be advantageous
