Job Description: The incumbent also fulfils the role by the use of scientifically based nursing theories and processes, treating the patients as a physical, social and spiritual individual, and by use of educational and technical means applicable to health care practice. Job Responsibilities: Evaluate, set standards and monitor safe utilization of supplies and equipment To ensure the provision of a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors Aim as member of staff t optimise and maintain quality, effective and safe nursing care, within the frame of the assigned budget. Provide input and standards in formulating patient care policy and procedures in the hospital Communicate with the unit manger, so that he / she is informed of activities and problems Perform any related tasks as requested. Prepare day / night shift documentation that reflects patient status, patient / staff ratio and problems Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals Evaluate patients care needs; initiate individualised nursing care plans; co-ordinate patient services. Co-operate and collaborate with other hospital departments to provide appropriate support services.
