Job Description:

As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be working to drive improvements in the performance of machinery and assets, reporting to the Automation Engineer on a daily basis. The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles and actively developing TPM processes so it’s an exciting time to be involved and it is expected that you will play a key part in this

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant
• Faultfinding and programming on instrumentation equipment, PLC’s and VSD,s
• Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment
• Calibration of all CCP equipment and instrumentation (Metal detectors/Xray/etc)
• Repair and maintain all aspects of date coding equipment
• Incumbent has to be pro-active and prevent breakdowns on his/her patrols and shows initiative to continuously improve equipment performance
• Ensure machine availability for production targets to be met

Job Requirements:

• Be able to read Engineering drawings
• Experience of hazardous area ratings and installations
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency whilst never compromising safety or product quality
• Knowledge of controls systems, data interfaces and communications protocols.
• N6 in Instrumentation Technician
• Previous experience on instrumentation is essential (min 1-5 years)
• FMCG background essential
• Leadership skills are critical i.e. facilitation skills in leading team meetings & coaching and mentoring of production staff on instrumentation equipment
• Strong analytical & problem solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills
