Job Description: Our Group strategy assists the Executive leadership team in researching, creating, and executing a proactive and aligned business strategy across the key strategic pillars identified in the new group strategy. Job Responsibilities: Assist and support in the delivery of strategic projects on an ad-hoc basis Ensure that the content and the spirit of the strategic plan are being implemented and tracked accurately to facilitate robust business discussions and informed decision making. Assist in the development of business cases for organic growth concepts. Assist in the assessment and due diligence process of acquisition targets. Project Management and Co-ordination of opportunity assessments. Gather internal and external (market, industry, competitor, customer) data and translate it into useful and actionable insights for informed strategy formulation. Conduct research on strategic trends, i.e., Political, Economic, Social, and Technological and analyse these trends and determine the impact on the future of the organisation. Promote alignment between the Group and Divisional Strategies to ensure that the Group delivers on its vision. Ensure alignment between Group and divisional KPI’s. Monitor KPI performance. Highlight areas of underperformance to ensure continuous improvement Qualification & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Business Science/Economics our you are qualified CA(SA) or have qualified as a CFA You have a mix of strategic thinking, strategic and financial analysis, project management and project execution with an understanding of the macro-economic environment and the retail market. The following skills and attributes will support your success: Analytical and logical thinking; Presentation skills; Communication skills (written & verbal); Critical thinking; Problem-solving; Interpersonal skills; Relationship building 3-5 years’ commercial experience within a fast-paced retail business. Previous M&A experience would be an advantage.
