Job Description:

The Directorate of Student Development and Support (SDS) in Higher Education Development and Support has a permanent of SDS Practitioners available at the Soshanguve North campus.

Job Responsibilities:

• Psychometric assessments
• Career counselling
• Research
• Personal counselling and therapy
• Study Skills
• Life Skills
• Mentorship training
• Programme management and administration of a SDS service area.
• Participate in the service delivery of:
• Other SDS services

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work with people individually and in teams in a partnership and leadership relationship.
• Ability to counsel and mentor and provide guidance.
• Counselling portfolios related to academic development focus areas: Professional knowledge of remedial support work
• Knowledge of teaching, learning and mentorship in Higher Education
• Ability to apply and facilitate and present effectively.
• Knowledge of project/programme management
• Ability to prioritize and organize, function independently and take responsibility for tasks.
• Ability to operate effectively in team context.

Qualification & Experience:

• A relevant Master’s Degree (NQF L9) in the field of Psychology.
• 3 years relevant experience in rendering psychological services to higher education students.
• Registration as a psychologist (educational or counselling) with the HPCSA.
