Job Description:
To provide quality and safe clinical care to patients that present to the emergency centre through assessing, diagnosing, treating and disposition according to best practice standards
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and to support the nursing staff in the application of triage in the emergency centre
- Assist with teaching and co-ordinating clinical development programmes in the emergency centre to improve patient care
- Partake in emergency centre quality improvement and quality assurance initiatives to ensure safe, quality patient care is delivered at all times
- Actively participate in company strategies e.g. PatientsFirst@Mediclinic
- Maintain a minimum standard of emergency medical care knowledge and expertise at all times
- Provide quality safe clinical care in the emergency centre
Job Requirements:
- Advanced Paediatric Life Support
- South African Triage Scale
- Private healthcare industry knowledge
- The Charter of the Public and Private Health Sectors of the Republic of South Africa
- Health Professions Act No. 56 of 1974
- Advanced Trauma life Support
- Mental Health Care Act No. 17 of 2002
- Children’s Act No. 38 of 2005
- HPCSA Regulations and Guidelines on Ethical rules, regulations and policy guidelines
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Qualification & Experience:
- MB BCh/MB ChB
- Dip PEC, MPhil
- Previous work experience post community service year in emergency centre in private / public hospital
- Completion of internship and community service years
