Job Description:

Ensure the provision of Occupational Health Services with aim of proactively preventing and protecting the employees of City of Johannesburg from Occupational hazards that may exist in the workplace.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure medical examination/assessment of employees and interpret the medical finding’s;
• Ensure creation of a database and implementation of immunization programmes;
• Perform an appropriate occupational medical examination/ assessment of employee’s;
• Ensure effective and efficient management of Occupational Health sub unit;
• Lead and manage the occupational health advisors and occupational nursing practitioners;
• Consult and actively provide medical inputs to key receivers regarding the substantivecontent and procedural interpretation
  on issues of complex nature in an uncertain
• Perform an appropriate occupational medical examination/assessment of employee’s;
• Perform an appropriate clinical assessment against the identified hazards and Occupational Risk and Exposure Profile (OREP);
• environment with a high impact and risk to the organization;• Perform occupational examination/assessments of employee’s;
• Ensure creation of a database and implementation of immunization programmes;

Job Requirements:

• Medical Surveillance;
• Immunisation Profiling;
• Fitness for Work Assessment;
• Knowledge of Primary Health Care/ HIV and AIDS.
• Good Management skills;
• Consulting and Advice;

Qualification & Experience:

• Must have thorough knowledge and at least 3 years’ experience in the management of a highly strategic department, budgetary control and management of staff.
• 6 years in the working environment with exposure to all basic
• disciplines of occupational health;
• Medical qualification (M BBch) or equivalent medical qualification and registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA);
• Diploma in Occupational Health (DOH); and Certificate in HIV and AIDS Management will be an added advantage;
