ISASA Vacancies Internships – Deputy Head

Job Description:

Uplands seeks to appoint a Deputy Head of Pastoral Care and Boarding (College), whose strengths will lie in effective verbal and written communication, while creating a caring, nurturing and supportive environment dedicated to the wellbeing and education of pupils.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a suitable professional qualification and be SACE registered.
• Lead and manage the Boarding and Pastoral Teams.
• Contribute to the effective marketing of the school, meeting parents, conduct tours and lead promotional events when needed.
• Work to maintain effective partnership with the community, promoting and representing the school at local, national and international level.
• Have a minimum of ten years teaching experience of which five years must have been in a senior role.
• Be responsible for the discipline within the College.
• Work closely with the boarding and pastoral staff to ensure policies and health and safety procedures are implanted effectively.
• Manage all boarding and pastoral development and training.
• Monitor pastoral progress closely and devise strategies and systems to give each pupil an opportunity to develop to their fullest possible extent.
• Work closely with the College Head and College Management Team to ensure goals are met.
• Contribute to the academic and co-curricular programme.
• Contribute to the strategic planning of the school in order to effectively and proactively implant its vision and mission.
