ISASA Jobs – Intermediate Phase Afrikaans Teacher

Job Description:

A vacancy on the permanent, full-time staff at the Preparatory has arisen in respect of a teacher who is suitably qualified and experienced to teach Afrikaans. The successful candidate will further be required to serve as a Register Class Teacher.

Job Requirements:

• Possess excellent written and communication skills;
• Be registered with SACE;
• Have proven interpersonal qualities and skills necessary for close co-operation with members of staff, parents, students and other members of the school community;
• Ability to work outside normal working hours of the school to fit in with the requirements.
• Be self-motivated, creative and be willing to accept responsibility;
• Have an appropriate university degree / professional teaching qualification;
• Be willing and competent to contribute and participate in the school’s diverse sport and co-curricular programme;
• Have previous experience in a similar role in a school environment.
• Have a clear criminal / sexual offences record and be able to provide a valid clearance document (not older than six (6) months);
• Have a passion for teaching and be able to drive curiosity and passion for learning the subject;
• Must have English as a first language and fluency in Afrikaans or vice versa;
• Have a proven ability to work collaboratively and energetically within a dynamic organization;
• Be proactive/show initiative;
• Be an experienced intermediate phase teacher;
• Be computer literate and prepared to engage with 21st century teaching methodologies
