Gpg Vacancies Department of Education – Pharmacist Assistant Post-basic Grade 1

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure proper receipt recording and storage of medicine according to standard operating procedures handled in the area of operations. Assist in ensuring availability of drugs and prepacking of medication in pharmacy. Promote correct evaluation of prescriptions and legal processing of medicine, Stocktaking and distribution of supplies to the client. Ensure responsibility and accountability for safe patient medicine use. Compounding and preparation of any medicines as delegated. Provide advice and support to patients and other Health Care Professionals regarding pharmaceutical issues. Monitor and report to the Pharmacist any drug challenges in their area of operations. Maintain necessary records and statistics to ensure proper functioning of the pharmacy, any other duty assigned by the pharmacy manager in line with the incumbent’s scope of practice and job description.

Job Requirements:

Senior Certificate/ Grade 12, Post- Basic Pharmacist qualification. Proof of registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant. Proof of payment on the annual fee for 2025 endorsed by SAPC. Knowledge and ability to comply with good pharmacy practice. Skills in terms of consultations, Knowledge of current health and public service legislations, regulations and policies, accuracy, flexibility, ability to work under pressure and ethical behaviour. Computer literate and background of Rx-solutions.
