Job Description:

To provide Specialized Operating and Maintenance engineering services to Operating Units in order to optimize assets performance in the short to medium term.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develops discipline-specific vision, strategy and direction setting for improving OU O&M Engineering support
• Mangers and conducts products, equipment, material, service and change impact evaluations
• Provide planned user needs and translating these into alternative solutions
• Represents Eskom in national and international technical forums
• Develops discipline specific philosophies, technical, technical standards procedures, work practices and specifications
• Provides input into and conducts research to improve O&M operations
• Provides professional technical leadership over engineers within their own discipline

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge (Define and link the relevant knowledge components in terms of academic, theoretical, and understanding of a subject, its facts and information relevant to the KPA’s. Indicate the requires proficiency level for the role, and the criteria for updating the competency
• Skills (Define and link the relevant skill/work experience components in terms of practical and work experience relating to the KPA’s. Indicate the required profiency level for the role and the criteria for updating the competency
• Leadership (Team player, motivating teams, coaching, mentoring, developing.
• Attributes (Clearly define attributes as such as colour blindness and physical disabilities that might hinder performance
• Behavioral (List the key elements required to perform the function and/or to be displayed, e.g., integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, professionalism

Qualification & Experience:

• 4 Years
• B.Sc. Eng / B. Eng in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, Civil, Metallurgical or Industrial Engineering
• 2 Years – in the area of engineering operations & maintenance
