Job Description:

To manage the operation of the multi-billion Rand National Grid in a secure, reliable, and economical manner, in accordance with world-class practices and evolutionary development in the Electricity Supply Industry

Job Responsibilities:

• Information flow of recent Power System Events
• Deputizing for Shift Manager
• Training of Staff
• Safe access to Transmission HV plant
• Grid Security and Supply Quality
• Restoration of Grid

Job Requirements:

• Verbal skills communicate in professional manner to external customers
• The demonstration of leadership skills under adverse conditions
• Witten skills to effectively report on power system incidents
• Interpersonal skills to instruct calmly and authoritatively fellow shift members and the other Eskom personnel
• Analytical skills to analyse and make decisions under extreme pressure
• Technical skills to utilise EMS/SCADA systems to analyse a situation and implement a course of action

Qualification & Experience:

• B Degree/ B-Tech / National Higher Diploma Technical at NQF 7 with 360 credits
• 5 years’ experience in Interconnected Power System Operations at Control Centre Level.
