Eskom Careers – Chief Engineer Prof Engineering Support

Job Description:

The provision of specialized M&O engineering services to the OU’s in order to optimize asset performance in the short, medium and long term

Job Responsibilities:

• Represent Eskom in national and international technical forums
• Provides complex technical consulting and investigation service for customers (OU support)
• Develops discipline specific, vision, strategy and direction setting for improving OU M&O Engineering support
• Manges and conducts complex products, equipment, material, services and change impact evaluations.
• Provides professional technical leadership over senior engineers and engineers within their own disciplines.
• Develops and approves discipline specific philosophies, technical standards, procedures and work practices and specifications
• Provides specialized planned (and sometimes unplanned) O&M engineering support to the OU’s
• Provides inputs into and conducts research to improve O&M operations

Qualification & Experience:

• 7 years experience in specialized engineering support to the technical operations of power generation or delivery (Transmission and Distribution) infrastructure. Demonstration of prior senior responsibility in this function.
• ECSA Registration
• BSc Eng, B Eng in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, Megatronic, Computer, Civil, Metallurgical or Industrial Engineering.
