Job Responsibilities:
- Capacity and Equipment for potential new and existing business in coordination with GBT, CT OCC and ROCC / CT OCC and sales – which also involves risk taking,risk assessment.
- Being interface to ROCC, CT OCC, Regional Product Heads, and to local/regional/global carrier contacts/partners
- Allocation management and negotiation – to ensure space availability according to seasonality and set budgets/local requirements
- Distributing market updates (on weekly basis)
- Development of risk based capacity mechanisms for export growth
- Negotiate and setup capacity and equipment terms with carriers (different validities and different rate/contract models = FAK, Baskets, NACs, commodities)
- Acting as escalation level for CTs and troubleshooting for carrier related topics and issues
- Execution of global carrier strategy: volume steering, carrier shifting, monitoring of carrier’s performance, monitoring of core carrier adherence and carrier adherence in order for the CTs to grow and reach budget and in order to maximize the incentives with the carriers
- Administration of capacity allocation system
- Taking ownership/sponsorship for selected large named accounts (including customer visits)
- Meetings with sales / ops (physical and online) and customers – ongoing and when needed
- Sharing market intelligence with the CT informing about Capacity / Equipment developments, change of surcharges, service coverage of carriers, developments, industry trends
Job Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of forwarding business
- Proven record of success of carrier negotiation
- Strong people and communication skills Negotiation skills
- Computer skills
- Understanding of air freight and ocean freight product offering
- Substantial experience in a capacity and equipment management
- Good sales skills and business acumen
Qualification & Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience in the OFR, Carrier Operations and carrier negotiations. Min 5 years of experience in forwarding business leadership.
