Job Description:

The primary purpose of the job is to conduct systematic and periodic evaluations of the Network’s compliance with internal DHL Safety, Quality and Security Standards as well as external ones set by various Regulatory Authorities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up and ensure that safety investigations are completed within the allocated time frame and internal safety performance KPIs met.
  • Escalating safety, quality and security concerns to the relevant AVI and DHL Express Regional Management.
  • Administer and manage the Qpulse reporting and investigation tool on a regional level and ensure that all ground operations data is current and accurate.
  • Draft and publish Quality and Safety bulletins related to ground handling.
  • Actively promote the DHL Safety Policy and Just Culture across the SSA Region.
  • Following-up post-audit with all relevant parties to ensure the root causes for non-conformities have been identified and adequate corrective actions have been formulated and implemented leading to the audit closure in a timely manner.
  • Conduct risk assessments to determine the level of occurrence investigation required and oversee the progress and output of investigations as well as the effectiveness of safety risk control measures.
  • Maximize safety effectiveness in SSA by managing the distribution of relevant safety information. Lead safety communication throughout the region that celebrates success and provide support and necessary resources to operational challenges.
  • Update to maintain the document library for ISAGO certifications, RA3 validations, DG Audit reports, and other relevant documents for the SSA Region.
  • Provide direct input and expertise to assist the network airlines, third party wet lease operators and ground handling agents to achieve DHL Global Airside standards.
  • Update and maintain the station distribution lists for Qpulse occurrence reports and investigations.

Job Requirements:

  • Good command of MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Formal qualification in SMS.
  • Formal qualification in Auditing.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in the Aviation industry and or in the area of Quality and Safety.
  • Advance level of PC literacy.
  • Professional level of English literacy.
  • Sound understanding of DHL Aviation Network and Airside Operations of at least 3 years.
