Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct and control outcomes associated with utilisation, optimisation, productivity and performance of personnel within the project engineering and project investigation section
• Identify short-, medium- and long-term objectives and plans for the enhancement, reinforcement and refurbishment of the high voltage, the medium voltage and the low voltage electricity network infrastructure assets
• Manage, direct and control professional and technical staff in project teams for the detail design of complex projects for capital asset creation and refurbishments/replacements of equipment on the high voltage electricity network that falls within the undertaking authorised area of supply
• Prepare capital and operating estimates and controls expenditure against the approved budget allocations
• Utilise specialised knowledge and core competence provides specialised contractual and technical engineering advice to Operational and Senior Management and to technical and professional staff
• Manage, control and direct professional and technical staff in the implementation of functions related to the capital asset creation and refurbishment/replacement of high voltage infrastructure projects
• Manage the formation of specific contracts and tender documents and controls contractual obligations
• Design procedures and control systems within the Section to ensure effective control of design processes, technical drawings, tender documentation and project management
• Manage the identification of short-, medium- and long-term objectives and plans for the enhancement, reinforcement and refurbishment of the high voltage electricity network infrastructure assets

Job Requirements:

• Code EB driver’s licence.
• At least ten (10) years’ relevant system design experience with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in management of system design professional teams.
• A high degree of computer literacy
• Experience in project and contract management of high value projects
• Detailed knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act C and the Construction Regulations
• Experience in power system modelling techniques
• Registered Professional Engineer or eligible for registration
• Financial analysis and competent on SAP
• BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or BTech in Electrical Engineering
