Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate and control conditions that cause illness or adverse effects to persons
• Contribute to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives for mining processes
• Mandatory codes of practice
• Audit compliance to standards, cop’s
• Ensures compliance with all relevant legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and leading practices.
• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
• Develops, mentors and motivates effective operational teams.
• HRD programme
• Day-to-day Ventilation/Occupational hygiene engineering best practice layouts
• Occupational hygiene objectives and targets
• Incident investigation
• Develop ventilation and refrigeration mine design in line with live (correct spelling) life of lease and operational requirements
• Input into mining blueprint
• Cato technical systems for (Palladium/VUMA) ventilation occupational hygiene process
• High level complex ventilation / refrigeration modelling
• Mine design Layouts
• Manages resources to deliver section business targets.
• Operational planning

Job Requirements:

• Hazard identification and risk assessment
• Practical experience of at least 10 years + in the Ventilation field and at least 5 years as Manager Ventilation
• Sound knowledge pertaining to people management
• Working knowledge of specialist Ventilation and Refrigeration computer simulation program
• Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of management systems and database formulation
• Palladium and other specialised technical programs (VUMA)
• Extensive computer literacy in MS Office, SAP,
• Member of Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa

Qualification & Experience:

• Training, via courses, formal training or practical experience in:
• Legal requirement: Chamber of Mines (COM) Certificate in Mine Environmental Control
