Job Description:
To perform bench work according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches under supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
Examine microscopies on the various specimens in order to ensure correct interpretation of patient results, Interpret cultures in order to ensure that correct results are delivered timeously, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Perform general tasks in order to ensure that best practice is upheld within the laboratory, Perform identifications and sensitivities on positive cultures in order to ensure effective handling and processing of identifications and sensitivities, Perform receiving and resulting tasks on the Meditech system in order to ensure correct handling, preparing and recording of specimen and results., Perform relevant procedures in the TB laboratory in order to ensure effective handling and processing of TB cultures, Process specimens on benches in order to ensure sufficient delivery of results
Job Requirements:
5 months work integrated learning in a training lab, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)
Qualification & Experience:
HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field (Required), National Diploma in Medical Technology / Enrolment in Bachelor of Health Science Medical Laboratory Science (Required)
