As a Partner Manager within the AWS Public Sector team, you will have the exciting opportunity to help execute on our strategy to build a partner community to enable Customers adoption of Amazon’s infrastructure web services (Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, Amazon Simple DB, Amazon SQS, etc.) across AWS’s most strategic business partners and their customers in South Africa

Your responsibilities will include earning the trust from the key stakeholders, from the CEOs down to the field executives with leading partners practically impacting Public Sector AWS adoption. By establishing, growing business and technical relationships, creating, executing a go to market plan and managing the day-to-day interactions with the Partners, you will help to drive overall end customer adoption with the Public Sector segments. The ideal candidate will possess a business background that enables them to engage at the CXO level and a strong track record in working in a complex matrix organization. He/she should also have a demonstrable ability to think big about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to convey compelling value propositions which help deliver partner results.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing, enabling and supporting a partner community
  • 5+ years of experience managing sales accounts and territories
  • 5+ years of experience with government technology capture, procurement, and contracting processes.
  • 5+ years of experience with technology platform sales with an understanding of government IT, data centers, and cloud adoption.
  • 5+ years of partner/business development, enterprise sales, and/or program/product management experience with a focus on public sector
  • Must meet/exceed Leadership Principles
  • Must meet/exceed technical requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration or IT disciplines
  • Self-starter and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to collaborate to solve complex business challenges.
  • Experience using Salesforce (reports and CRM).
  • Understand the technical considerations and certifications specific to the public sector.
  • Excellent writing skills. The ability to author original text including detailed sales forecasts and strategy planning documents.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead executive level meetings understanding the audience and the ability to conduct EBC type activities.
  • Established network within the government partner and acquisition space.
  • Familiarity with the system integrator marketplace
  • Familiarity with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Legislation and Enterprise and Supplier Development practice.
  • Experience developing an indirect sales channel, growing partner competencies, and delivering sell-through revenue.
  • Ability to drive strategic technology discussions at multiple levels with partners and customers.
