Job Description:
AWS Trust & Safety (T&S) is a global team that helps protect against abusive use of AWS services while simultaneously working to build trust with AWS’s customers, partners, and other stakeholders. T&S engages with a variety of stakeholders to understand cloud infrastructure-related trust and safety issues, develop fit-for-purpose frameworks to assess and minimize risks for AWS’s customers, and develop guidelines and processes for responding to trust and safety issues. Our team members display a solid understanding of AWS’s cloud infrastructure, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to exercise sound judgment on complex and time-sensitive matters.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver effective communication strategies that build and strengthen the T&S brand awareness
- Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all toolkits, templates, website content and processes to promote self-service and communication best practices across the organization
- Lead the internal marketing, branding and public relations for T&S and it’s stakeholders
- Write compelling and effective messaging and content for a variety of audiences and channels including (but not limited to) leadership messages, blogs, newsletters, announcements, videos, presentations, and events.
- Develop and deliver strategic communications plans and programs that advance priorities, including reactive and proactive communications and outreach
- Own the communication strategy framework within T&S
- Provide strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally
- Manage the end-to-end process of creating, collecting, editing and curating communications across T&S teams
- Oversee all T&S global communications ensuring messaging is consistent and engaging
- Website content management and general content development; driving creation of T&S video and marketing content by working closely with the teams responsible for producing and creating this content; Work with various internal marketing and public relations teams to generate new ideas and adoption strategies
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and developments to craft a forward-looking communications strategy which foresees potential opportunities and mitigates risks.
- Work collaboratively with internal T&S teams for the adoption of communication strategies and development of products, services and policies to ensure message accuracy, consistency and alignment
- Ensure compliance with legal, style, and other AWS corporate standards
Job Requirements:
- Outstanding command of the English language and ability to communicate complex concepts
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Strong crisis management communications experience
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Self-starter capable of taking initiative and working with minimal direAs this role supports a T&S technical team, it is ideal that the candidate have experience operating within a T&S environment or equivalent, and have familiarity with Web Technologies and the Internet (preferably website hosting or building)
- Great teaching skills that translate into amazing written work
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications, In lieu of a degree, additional years of hands-on experience
- 7+ years of communications experience
- Confident communicator and presenter
- A self-starter who is motivated, takes initiative, and works well in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent strategic, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
