Job Description:

Altron Systems Integration is looking for a highly skilled software engineer with experience as a technical lead who can take responsibility for leading a development team across multiple projects.  Your previous experience with modern application software development, enterprise infrastructure implementations, high performance computing solutions, exposure to Cloud and DevOps principles will help you in setting strategic direction for the team and guiding them to success. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will work closely with technical architects, delivery managers and solutions teams to deliver value to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide solutions to technical difficulties and complex issues
• Stay up to date with latest technology and trends
• Support the strategy to build a world class engineering team by establishing the technical vision for the development teams
• Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
• Structure work across the teams and support the delivery managers in managing the team’s capacity
• Assist with the hiring process of the team to ensure
• Work with technical architectures and other stakeholders to define technical solutions
• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
• Work with teammates in the migration of legacy applications to Modern technologies
• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
• Be an integral part of the development life cycle, by been “hands on” coding expert

Job Requirements:

• Database exposure (Oracle PLSQL, MS SQLServer)
• Experience deploying, scaling, and building solutions on top of search engines (ElasticSearch)
• Container deployment, scaling, management, etc. (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
• NoSQL database experience (Cassandra, DynamoDB, Couchbase)
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (JaCoCo, JUnit) and TDD
• Experience building solutions with a microservices architecture
• Experience deploying, scaling, and building solutions utilizing stream / micro-batch data processing (Spark)
• Messaging experience (Kafka, JMS, SQS, SNS)
• XAML / XML Design Patterns
• Deployment Tools – Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.

Qualification & Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  ± 2 Years in designing, building and architecting applications for the AWS Cloud
  AWS Certification or other cloud technologies
  Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, MVC architecture, and design patterns
  6+ years of experience in software engineering and development in large enterprise systems with experience in at least one development language (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
