Job Description: To provide specialist and defined support to the External Reporting Function to facilitate the successful delivery of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Companies Act and JSE Listings Requirement compliant external financial reports, inclusive of the Standard Bank Group annual financial statements Job Responsibilities: Perform quality assurance on all design collateral including images, layout and other aesthetic elements of the financial statements in order to deliver quality output including interactions with the Groups type setters. Drive benchmarking of annual financial statements to global as well as local competitors to ensure that the Group remains at the forefront of transparent and fit for purpose disclosures. Develop and present disclosure training material to the Groups Business Units, in a manner in which technical accounting principles and relating disclosures are understandable and ensure that the presentation is tailored to the audience. Produce the annual & interim financial statements, comprising the statement of financial position, income statement, statement of other comprehensive income, statement of cash flow, statement in changes in equity, notes, for the SB Group in order to comply with regulatory requirements (Companies Act, JSE Listings Requirements). Formulate the technical and disclosure requirements of the inputs needed to deliver the Groups IFRS compliant financial statements. Analyse, investigate and explain significant period-on-period movements in the financial statements and notes to ensure accuracy and integrity of information, facilitate internal understanding of the financial statements, and furthermore support investor relations in dealing with analyst queries. Provide specialist advice on the implementation of any new accounting standards and the implication thereof on the Groups external disclosures to ensure that the Groups business units achieve the successful implementation of any processes needed to ensure compliance. Qualification & Experience: Qualified Chartered Accountant registered with the South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) 1-2 years post article experience in a financial services organisation would be beneficial with focus on external reporting and/or audit.
