Job Description: To support Provincial, Regional and Local market management in the attainment of the province’s objectives on key financial and non-financial metrics by preparing and analysing the financial results (including guidance on income statement matters), and sales and customer data of the Provincial, Regional and Local market, identifying problem areas and potential for improvement. Translate pricing decisions to the financial outcomes. Job Responsibilities: Creates an environment of collaboration and team work Investigates variances to budget, provide explanations and recommend corrective action on financial information as well as key customer drivers. Acts as custodian of the provincial income statement and balance sheet. Uses workforce plans to obtain headcount approvals on an annual basis and as input into the financial budgeting cycles. When required, initiates disciplinary processes for team members. Resolves grievances raised by team members, escalating only if unresolved. Revises and continually develops new controls, more efficient processing methods and methods of completing tasks across the province and Finance division. Ensures that suitable planning, budgetary and financial performance measurement controls are in place for the province. Provides input and feedback to Finance (Measurement and Pricing) in the development of pricing models. Researches, investigates and monitors the financial impact and feasibility of various business initiatives and projects. Creates quarterly leave plans to ensure adequate coverage. Approves leave requests and leave sell requests. Tests the validity and appropriateness of transfer accounting charges to the province. Qualification & Experience: Finance and Accounting Honours Degree The Standard Bank Group has implemented a Vaccination Policy for all roles which require the incumbent to work from the Standard Bank premises on a full-time or intermittent basis. Full vaccination against COVID-19 is therefore an inherent requirement of this role. Chartered Accountant +5 years post articles 5-7 years experience in financial services. Previous experience in heading up a finance team and delivering key MIS to business unit. Management Accounting reporting experience. Advanced Product knowledge. Advanced knowledge of Data structures and Analytics. Broad understanding of a business environment. Knowledge of financial analysis techniques. Construct, read and interpret financial statements.
